There are some updates to share from Denizens Cafe that we think you'll appreciate. Before we get to that, a story...
An immigrant arrived to Boston harbor on May 26th, 1636—Christopher Helme. Christopher’s name appeared on the founding documents of a little settlement named Exeter that was founded in 1638. Christopher had a son, who had a son… and eventually one of the sons opened Denizens Cafe.
A "Denizen" is an immigrant who makes a place home, much like my family and likely many of your families did. At Denizens Cafe we like to acknowledge who we are, where we come from, and now, who we all are here together in this little corner of the city. As Denizens of Portland, we want to acknowledge our pasts—the good and the bad—and act on our responsibilities as neighbors to create space for healthy, diverse community to flourish.
One way we bring people together is through exceptional food and coffee!
Now, on to the good news!
Expanded Hours:
Starting now, Denizens Cafe is open seven days a week!
That means you can enjoy our offerings everyday, including Mondays and Tuesdays, which were previously days we were closed.
New Hours:
We've adjusted our schedule to better fit your needs and continue to expand accessibility of food on days where there are fewer local options.
On weekdays, we'll be open from 8 AM to 2 PM.
On weekends, our hours are 8 AM to 3 PM.
Weekday Special:
Between 8 AM and 10 AM on weekdays, we're offering a special deal: a latte and a pastry for just $6.00. It's a great way to start your day without breaking the bank.
