New Mural Unveiled at Denizen's Cafe!

Hey, fellow Denizens! Our Cafe is thrilled to unveil our latest, non-food masterpiece: a vibrant mural that encapsulates the essence of community, culture, and connection right here in the heart of Roseway. Created by the incredibly talented muralist, Alex Chiu, our mural is more than just paint spanning an entire wall—it's a celebration of diversity, history, and the power of food to bring people together.

Celebrating Diversity

Diversity isn't just a buzzword for us—it's woven into the fabric of our community. That’s why our mural proudly showcases the beautiful tapestry of faces and cultures that call Portland home. From the generations of locals to the newest arrivals, Denizens Cafe is a melting pot of stories and experiences. Our mural is a visual reminder that food transcends borders and languages, fostering connections that bridge the gaps between us.

Remembering the Past

Our mural isn't just about the present—it's also a nod to the past and a beacon for the future. Nestled within the vibrant scene, you'll spot George’s Food Market, a piece of Roseway's history. With its roots dating back to the early days of our neighborhood, George’s Food Market serves as a reminder of people who have shaped our current community.

We also pay homage to the iconic Roseway Theater marquee, a beloved landmark that was recently lost to a tragic fire. Though its physical presence may be lost, its spirit lives on in our mural—a tribute to the memories and moments shared under its glowing lights.

You're Invited!

So, we invite you to join us in celebrating the spirit of Portland at Denizens Cafe. Come and check out your new mural—a living testament to the power of art, diversity, and community. Whether you're a longtime local or a curious newcomer, there's a place for you at our table.

See you soon!
